3月17日 Class of 97-99 ReunionHello Readers!
Last night some of our class of 1997-1999 from Balwyn High School met up for dinner/drinks. There were 13 of us in attendance, and it was great to catch up with them, some of who I hadn't seen in about 5 years! Also, since some of us moved up a year (doing 5 years instead of 6 years of high school), a lot of us lost touch at school, so I probably hadn't spoken to some people for about 6-7 years! Quite amazing.
Anyway, some people were saying that they didn't know how a reunion such as this would turn out, whether it'd be awkward or if we would get along. You see, back in the day from Year 7 to Year 9, we were all in the same class for the 3 consecutive years (yes, we were a "special class", part of the Accelerated Learning Program...haha) but the class was always segmented into different cliques. But I guess now everyone has matured (well, most people have :P) and looking back on our early high school years there were many great memories and laughs to be had (yes, and some laughs at my expense :S).
For some of us, it turned out to be a long night. We started at 3 Degrees at QV, and when that closed up we went to Hawthorn for a few more drinks after. From the initial group of 13 we ended the night with 4. Overall, I had a fantastic night, reminiscing about years gone by and it was interesting to see where people have come and gone.
So thanks to Claud, Kath, Vera, Annie, Shaun, Natalie, Belinda, Chris and Peter for coming out, and especially to Wilson, Leah and Rita for staying out til the very end! It was a really enjoyable night and funnily enough probably one of the best nights out I've had in a while! There are plans for another one of these and hopefully we'll get a bigger group out next time.
Over and out.
William
PS. yes, I did drink again...detox is well and truly over (I guess it never really got started). My motto from henceforth is "drink in moderation" :P 3月12日 Ok, No More DetoxHey All,
Another unsuccessful night of attempting to go detox. It was a friend's welcome back/birthday party, so I had a few to drink. I just couldn't not have any. So from now on, my philosophy is "drink in moderation" as a compromise for my drinking overdose (well, almost) in Sydney. It also means that I'll get a regular shave...haha.
Over and out.
William 3月5日 Detox? What Detox?Greetings Readers,
Some of you may or may not know that I was attempting to go on an alcohol detox when I got back from Sydney. The reason being was that in the time I was up there, I think I may have done some serious liver damage and thought that it may be a good idea if I gave them a rest for a while.
In the first week back, I went to a 21st and a house party, and promised myself that they would be the last times I drank for a month. That drinking hiatus lasted the whole of 7 days (yep, one whole week!) before the detox was ended last night at a friend's party in the city. I guess it doesn't help that I'm now on my full licence, so I can actually drink then drive (no, I'm not a bloody idiot...I make sure I'm "feeling" less than .05 first! hehe).
Anyway, this is what I might start doing: everytime I drink, I'll shave. So if I don't drink, I won't shave. Hence if I'm unshaven and looking scruffy, it means I haven't had a drink! Hmm...sounds kinda silly and it's not really an incentive not to drink eh? Anyone got any other ideas? haha
Ok, enough of that nonsense. I should try doing some work now :S
